Standing behind the work

Our warranty

Every fence we repair or build comes with a 2-year workmanship warranty. If something fails because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it at no charge. Here is what that means, in plain words.

What is covered

Our workmanship, for 2 years

If something fails because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it. For example:

  • A post we set in concrete works loose or goes out of plumb on its own.
  • A rail or board we fastened comes off.
  • A gate we hung stops swinging clear or latching because of how we hung it.
  • A panel we installed shifts or drops out of line.
  • A deck board, joist, post, stair or rail we repaired comes loose because of how we did the work.

The same workmanship warranty covers the deck repairs we do. The old deck parts we did not touch are not covered.

Materials: the maker's warranty

The lumber, the vinyl panels, the aluminum sections and the hardware carry the warranty of the company that made them. Our own warranty covers the installation, not the material itself. If you think a product is faulty, call us and we help you contact the maker.

What is not covered

Storms and trees

Wind, ice, a fallen limb or a whole tree. That is a new repair, and we quote it like any other.

Impact

A car, a mower, a ball or a dog hitting the fence.

Weathering

Wood going gray, small checks and cracks as it dries, a little warp in a board. That is wood doing what wood does.

Work by others

Changes, repairs or additions made by someone else after our job.

What we did not install

The old posts and boards we kept on a repair because they were still sound.

No care

A wood fence never sealed, a sprinkler aimed at the boards, soil or mulch piled against the pickets.

How to ask for warranty service

Call or text us with a photo of the problem and the date of the job. We look at the photo, tell you whether it is a warranty item, and set a day to come fix it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the warranty cover?
Our workmanship for 2 years: a post we set that works loose, a board or rail we fastened that comes off, a gate we hung that stops swinging or latching because of how we hung it. We come back and fix it at no charge.
What is not covered?
Storm damage, a fallen tree, a car or a mower hitting the fence, normal weathering and graying of wood, changes or repairs made by someone else after our work, and the posts, boards and panels we did not install. A product defect in the lumber, vinyl or aluminum is covered by the maker of that product, and we help you contact them.
Does the warranty cover the boards we kept on a repair?
Our warranty covers the work we did: the new post, the new boards, the gate we re-hung. The old boards we kept because they were still sound are yours as they were. If one of them fails later, that is a new repair, and we quote it the same way.
How do I ask for warranty service?
Call or text (704) 750-9173 with a photo of the problem and the date of the job. We look at it and tell you whether it is a warranty item or a new repair.
Does staining or sealing the fence affect the warranty?
No. Sealing a wood fence every few years helps it last, and we recommend it. Let new treated pine dry for a few months before the first coat.
